I have self-published five books. The first was in 2004 and it changed my life. Sold over 7,000 copies of that first book by marketing it myself using adwords and autoresponders.There are tremendous business building and lead generation benefits to being an author. Your “book” need not be on Amazon. 

Being an author is an unfair marketing strategy. Given the time and costs it pays back multiples over other business generation tactics.
